Tell me this…

When was the last time you turned your phone off for a weekend?
Didn’t check social media once?
Attended to your body with purpose, really felt into her?
Connected to your breath? Really experienced the power of conscious breathing?
Explored how different shapes shifted your mind and the different tastes they offered?
Implemented a firm boundary of no work. No content creation? No checking emails?

Life is constantly pulling us in a million different directions.
Even when you make time for yourself, work seems to find it’s sneaky way in or other commitments end up taking priority… again.

It’s so hard to have boundaries around time for you.

Retreat really creates that self care container in a different environment.

Reducing distractions gives us the space not only to rest, but also to turn inwards and learn about how we are truly feeling and what we need to nurture in ourselves.

Keeping busy seduces us into forgetting. Retreat is remembering.

The patriarchy benefits by keeping us disconnected from ourselves. Society programs women to put their own needs last, to be everything to everyone and be nothing to ourselves.

Through practices of self care, we rebel and decondition.

But, because our environment has not changed, the ingrained demands on women, we get seduced into our own forgetting again which is why retreat, sacred pauses, are necessary throughout the year as well as our daily practices of care.

It’s like having a deep clean every so often.

A fresh renewal of energy for life.

The Real Magic Happens When...

You get to remember who you are and what you want.

That’s what I want for you

My Story Might Sound Familiar...

I never had an interest in retreats in my 20s. The wellness scene hadn't exploded then, I was mad into fitness (a form of self abuse) and very attached to the fastness and constant doing of life. It wasn't until my heart was broken that desperation called me to try something new. Everything I knew wasn't working and I needed a distraction.

Now? Retreat has become my medicine, my way of coming home to myself when I'm feeling like a million scattered pieces swimming about. They are such an effective way to return home to myself and realign with my priorities and true soul desires when I inevitably get lost in others, constant notifications telling me who I am, what I feel and what I want

My Unique Approach

I’m not someone who took naturally to healing, breathwork or yoga. I didn’t enter the wellness world until my 30s and when I did, I was the biggest brat. I didn’t see the point, I thought the whole thing was a waste of time. By some miracle, I persisted (the one thing I was, was stubborn) and ended up changing the trajectory of my entire life for the better.

The thing that makes me particularly good at my job, is that I am terrible at healing. I understand exactly how you feel. A jumble of repeated unhealthy patterns with no light at the end of the tunnel. I promise you working harder, doing more, continuing to push - isn’t the answer.

The way I approach teaching and facilitating is based on my lived experience. I guide you through the art of slowing down, doing less, and turning inwards with the lived understanding of how uncomfortable being still can be.

This is for you if you feel lost

The confusion. Not knowing what you want in life. Feeling stuck and stagnant but unable to find a path forward?

If you are struggling to make a decisions, or even just feel confident in trusting what your gut is telling you..

A change in environment is potent medicine.

A new environment often provides a different perspective and much needed rest and space.

Constantly striving to figure it out, overworking at it, will suffocate your intention. It’ll feel like the answers will never come.

Creating spaciousness gives the answers the opportunity to flow to us.

I promise you the clarity you seek will be found on the inside. Searching for it externally will only disappoint you.

My retreat is for you if you need more laughter

The most vital part of my retreat is that they are fun. Play and fun are often skipped in the healing journey. We can make life so serious and take healing so seriously, it takes us further from ourselves instead of closer. My approach is very playful and fun. A house full of cackling women is always my intention and I really believe this is the best part of my retreats.

My promise that you’ll float home light as a feather, with a stomach that’s sore from laughing.

Turn inwards.

I deeply advocate and believe in the power of retreat. Often we need a different environment to heal and to be able to see. The summer solstice is the perfect time to reset and rejuvenate yourself, learn some skills to support you through summer.

Denise

“I didn’t realise I needed Carla’s retreat until I actually got there. I had hoped for a relaxing weekend, in great company with some gentle movement and room to breathe.
What I got was all of that and so so much more. To be welcomed and feel so comfortable in a new group of people was the tonic I needed. I laughed and cried and slept like a wee baby all weekend surrounded by the most fab group of women.
Not to mentioned the food, oh my God!!
I’m so gutted I can’t get to this retreat, but still keep in contact with Carla and get to her breathwork classes when I can.
Have the best weekend Carla xxxx”

“This was my first time attending a retreat and it far exceeded my expectations. The venue, food, sunrise dip, yoga practices and breath-work sessions were amazing and transformational. Carla is such a warm and kind soul. I am so grateful for the opportunity to really slow down and connect with other like minded women. It was exactly what I needed at a challenging juncture in life. Thank You”

FAQ

  • For women who feel pulled in a million different directions and struggle to carve out time for themselves. For women who feel scattered, disconnected and crave clarity around their true needs and desires. For women ready to experience the power of your breath in their body and excited to reignite their commitment to themselves.

  • Absolutely, beginners are most welcome, we’d love to have you! All activities are designed to accommodate beginners while still providing value to those with more experience.

  • I believe deeply in the power of true rest - not just in theory, but in practice. My intention is to balance structure practices with generous free time. The schedule is designed to ensure there’s plenty of space for reflection, rest and fun.

  • In healing we need to be witnessed, to be seen, to heal. Of course only you can heal you, however you can’t do it alone. It needs to be witnessed too, despite the conditioned belief from capitalism that you can heal alone. Sharing is encouraged through the weekend but equally is optional. No one will be forced to do/say anything they’re not comfortable with.

  • The retreat takes place in the wonderful Sandhill House which is located in Dunfanaghy, Co. Donegal. Private and single rooms are available, all with ensuites. We have beautiful views out onto the coastline, a hot tub, fire lodge, comfy couches and a fabulous studio. It is the most perfect spot to truly reset. Click here to watch a video of the venue.

  • We kick off on Friday, 20th June 2025 at 7pm (arrivals welcome after 4pm). We finish up around 2.30pm on Sunday 22nd June.

  • The retreat is kept to an intimate number to avoid overcrowding and allow for plenty of spaciousness. There are 12 spaces available, plus a handful of special guests.

  • Nearly every retreat I’ve attended since my first in 2017, I’ve attended solo. I prefer going alone and actively encourage others to do the same. You’ll have less distractions than you would with a friend, as you’ll naturally think about their experience as well as your own. Plus you’ll be welcomed with open arms and make new connections. It is the collective of strangers that is one of the most powerful elements of retreats. There is no history, no past, no knowledge of each other which brings a degree of freedom.

  • Yes no problem! Just pop me an email to let me know.

  • Yes, we can accommodate various dietary needs, just please please let us know in advance! The wonderful Eileen from Moreish Good Food will be catering for the weekend. Her meals are DIVINE, your tummy will be happy, guaranteed.
