I offer 2 types of breathwork classes in cycle with the moon; rhythmic & ocean. Let’s delve into them a little deeper so you can see what might be for you…
Rhythmic (full moon)
A masculine form of breathwork as it is yang and active
What’s the deal?
30 mins of active intense breathing.
30 mins is broken up into 7 cycles, working through the emotional centers in your body along the spine.
Breathing with each center for approx 4 mins per followed by a breath hold.
There is an emphasis on nasal breathing, with a very active forceful exhale through the nose.
You are seated in a circle, however you may lay down at any time.
You are told when to inhale and exhale, and guided for how long you hold your breath.
It activates your sympathetic response in your central nervous system which allows any unprocessed energy to be completed and released, and then the body enters the parasympathetic system.
It settles an overactive mind as it is fast and quick, you have little choice but to focus.
As this type of breathwork is heavily guided, it can help those who struggle to be present, focus and surrender to the breath & body.
Often people experience an aftermath of peace, calm and clarity as their nervous system has been ‘cleared out.’
It’s a powerful technique which offers people who struggle to meditate access into deep states of meditation and shifts in consciousness.

Ocean (new moon):
A feminine form of breathwork through slow, open mouth breathing, with no pause between exhale and inhale
What’s the deal?
You do this style of breathwork while lying down with eyes closed to bring all your attention and awareness inwards. As we spend most of our time spending energy out.
You open your mouth breathe along to a curated playlist to take you on a journey.
The session finishes with 15 minutes of grounding and integrating post breath.

We enter this world through an open mouth inhale, and leave on an open mouth exhale, it is the link between worlds.
Open mouth breathing is linked to the reptilian brain, and healing older parts of the brain.
We experience powerful emotions through open mouth such as orgasm.
